The ordering of pilotage services is regulated by ANNOUNCEMENT No. 3/95/Nw of the GDAŃSK HARBOUR MASTER:

Acting pursuant to Standing Order No. 9 of the Director of Maritime Office in Gdynia dated 27.10.1993 - Port Regulations &9, &12 and pursuant to the Decree of the Ministry of Transport and Sea Economy on Maritime Pilotage dated 92.05.07 /Official Journal of Laws No. 43 of 1992/, and pusuant to Standing Order No. 10 of the Head Director of Maritime Office in Gdynia on Establishment of Pilot Station in the Ports of Gdańsk and Gdynia dated 92.06.12 and pursuant to the Gdańsk Pilot Station Regulations approved by the Head Director of Maritime Office in Gdynia on the 29 June 1992, the Gdańsk Harbour Master hereby ordains as follows:

Requests for pilotage services shall be submitted to the Pilot Station at the Gdańsk/Port Północny Harbour Master’s Office (….) as follows:

  1. Notify the Pilot Station at least 2 hours before the estimated vessel’s entry, towing or departure. For vessels entering the port, indicate: gross tonnage, maximum length, maximum beam, draught bow and stern;
  2. Confirm the order 1 hour before the commencement of manouevers indicating the position of mooring, unmooring and the vessel’s side if mooring is to be performed;
  3. Cancellation of service may be requested not later than half an hour prior to the time indicated and confirmed in Item 2;
  4. Person ordering pilotage service must indicate his name, function, telephone number, and data of person/company that bares the costs of pilotage service.
  5. Ordering pilotage services without keeping to the aforementioned procedure may result in the delay of service without the fault of Pilot Station.

This Announcement shall enter into force on the 1st of February 1995.
